Welcome back to Term 2! To kick our term off, we went on a class trip to the Canterbury Air Force Museum. It was a fantastic day, we started with a scavenger hunt around the museum and then had an awesome session with Chris who taught as some fascinating facts about the ANZACs. Then to finish off our session, we actually got to experience what it would be like first hand during World War I in an Pacific Simulator! What an amazing day! Thanks to our parent helpers who without their help this day wouldn't have been possible.
To end our inquiry for term 1, as a class we decided it would be awesome to raise money for Caritas New Zealand. Within our inquiry unit, we had learnt a lot about Cambodia and the different struggles many Cambodian people face each and every day. In groups, we had to come up with simple yet effective ways to raise money. We came up with some amazing ideas, including a garage sale, mufti day, shared lunch and so on. The idea we voted for and like the most was a Movie Day. We were about to buy a ticket to the movie and pay an extra 50 cents to get some treats too. Well done to the group that organised and come up with the idea. We absolutely loved it. We raised a total of $48!! Ka Rawe!!
